Job DescriptionThis is a remote position, the selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States. We are influencing the transformation of future transportation with ADAS and Automated Driving. The Automated Driving Compute System Architecture team is passionate about definition, design, analysis, and approval of leading-edge silicon [System on Chip (SoC) and Machine Learning Accelerator (MLA)].GM is hiring an experienced, high-performing Software Integration Engineer to support this Platform. They will be responsible for safety-critical integration and verification of ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) software infrastructure for the ADAS controller. The position provides for a unique experience that includes the combination of integration of software builds and involvement in cutting edge technology. This experience includes exposure to high level management as well as opportunities to work with specialists in the field of controls. Responsibilities.
Verify SoC software infrastructure functionality, compliance and safety of the scalable compute platform.
Verify tier 1 software infrastructure deliveries and integration to meet ISO 26262 Part 6 for ASIL B and DIntegrate the infrastructure for sophisticated development silicon and production releases.
Design and implement test cases to verify software infrastructure is functional and compliant to Requirements, Interfaces, Fault Injection, and Resource Usage.
Silicon set (machine learning accelerator, safety microcontroller, SoC) parametric evaluation and analysis.
Silicon and system bring-up; sensor integration and system configuration.
Identify defects in software design and implementation, and assist development of anomaly correction and defect resolution.
Lead all aspects of bench and instrumentation issues.
Provide project management & technical leadership for safety-critical software integration and/or verification.
Perform sophisticated software design analysis.
Communicate information to and from internal and external customer organizations.
Stays abreast of new technology, debugging & instrumentation tools, microprocessors and software development processes.
Primary GM engineering interface with the component suppliers.

Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical degree.
Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience in safety-critical software development, integration, verification or testing.
Minimum of 2 years experience with implementing ISO 26262 Part 6 principles on ASIL software or systems, or IEC 62279, or similar Software Safety Standards.
Experience with programming languages (C/C++, Assembly, Java), operating systems (Unix, Linux, RTOS for embedded system) and instrumentation (INCA, in circuit emulators, DSPACE)Experience in designing and developing software using C+
+ Experience with QNX, Vx
Works or SAFERTOSExperience integrating 3rd party software components.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
Knowledge of Adaptive AUTOSAR and Classic AUTOSARDesign/Development of Safety Critical Systems/Components.
Experience with Automated Driving sensors (Cameras, Lidars, Radars, Ultrasonic Sensors)DFMEA training and DFSS Certification.
Software Controls/wiring and electronic validation experience.
Experience with CI/CD/CT systems.
Knowledgeable about microprocessor design and theory and embedded system & software as it pertains to engineering.
Knowledge and experience in control system integration and testing of hardware and software.
Knowledge of hardware design and failure modes of electronic modules.
Analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others.
CompensationThe median level of salary compensation for this role is $109,283.Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
