The push to work from home has been heavy in recent years, and for the most part, people seem to love it. According to a recent poll, 72% of people will “never give up working from home.”
I don’t think I will quit working from home either and here are five reasons why!
Why I Will Never Quit Working from Home
There are several reasons why I love working from home, and I don’t plan to quit now. Sure, there are challenges, but there are challenges no matter how or where you work. The pros far outweigh the cons in my opinion. If I had to narrow it down, here are my top reasons why I will never quit working from home:
I Love the Freedom and Flexibility.
Who doesn’t love the freedom that comes with working from home? I get to set my own hours, choose which projects I will accept, and I can take my work with me most anywhere. Although I have to be more self-disciplined in some ways when compared to working in a traditional setting, having the flexibility to work around my life’s schedule and many demands is a great reason to never quit working from home!
No. More. Commute.
I love driving! Just kidding. I don’t like it much at all, actually. And in heavy traffic during rush hour? Forget it. I’m so glad that I do not have to drive to work anymore. Not only does this remove a hassle from my daily life, I save a ton of money on fuel and car maintenance.
I Get So Much Done!
Although I appreciate working as a freelance writer, I have other passions that take up a lot of time. If I had a traditional job, I would not be able to pursue these as fully as I can now. I also like being able to work in appointments and errands more easily than I could before, and I don’t have to take time off from work to do so.
There’s More Room for Personal Growth.
Many jobs provide opportunities for advancement but working from home seems to offer even more. I get to connect with professionals in a wide variety of fields, learn new things regularly, and expand my abilities so that I can serve my clients better. As someone who loves being a “Jill of all trades,” this is one my favorite reasons why I plan to never quit working from home.
Being Home with Kids is The Best!
I started working from home because I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom but I could not afford to stop working. I even changed my career so that I could work from home, and I do not regret it! Although working from home with kids is challenging, I would not trade it for the world.
How do you feel about working from home? Are you among those who might quit working from home or do you plan to stick with it?
