SummaryManage the activities of operations staff to ensure completion of daily tasks and attainment of departmental goals. Manage execution, and maintenance of a business unit or department. Estimate time frames, quality, and quantity of resources required to successfully implement and carry out business enterprises. Handle personnel activities of staff (i.e., hire, train, reward, motivate, discipline, terminate, performance reviews, and pay discussions). Serve as the escalation point for issues beyond team authority; resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues. Prepare forecasts and reports of current operations to senior management. May provide input to the budgeting of department''s personnel, capital, and/or operations expenses. Will require regular travel within the US and travel internationally. In addition to the general management responsibilities, the Vendor Manager role will assist DFIN in making sound purchasing decisions. Responsibilities include relationship building with our vendors, monitoring our vendors to ensure compliance with DFIN policies and KPIs, effectively communicating with vendors their responsibilities in the working relationship and onsite visits with our vendors. This role requires you to be a good communicator and negotiator and have interpersonal skills to effectively maintain vendor relationships. You should be detail-oriented and adept at negotiating vendor contracts. Ultimately, you should be able to multitask effectively as well as demonstrate exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. This position will report to the Operations Enablement Manager.
ResponsibilitiesReview business goals and metrics to understand what DFIN needs from vendors to maximize our companys success. Perform a thorough spend analysis to gain visibility of the resources. Assemble the Team to continually streamline for maximum value for services provided. Enable collaboration between different departments and business lines. Select vendors to match DFINs performance characteristics to optimize operational results. Mitigate vendor risk and maximize performance. Perform contract reviews. Establish and implement policies and procedures for negotiating strong contracts. Determine measurable benchmarks for vendor performance. Continuously work to influence vendors to meet performance objectives to ensure profitability. Monitor vendor performance regularly and address any unusual changes or ongoing problems. Establish controls and test regularly to ensure vendors are meeting service-level agreements, performance metrics and other contractual terms. Conduct due diligence to understand the financial condition, business approach, internal controls and marketing of our current and/or potential new vendors. Take a strategic approach to building and maintaining relationships with our vendors.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience working as a Vendor Manager. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. The ability to travel for work. The ability to multitask effectively. Strong negotiation, management, and decision-making skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work independently.
