Sr. Desktop Support

Summary

The Information Systems Specialist III is part of the Information Technology Service Desk Team and is the direct support for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of desktop computers, laptops, printers and network services. This position is the first point of contact for users who contact the service desk team through phone, email and ticketing system to ensure that users receive appropriate assistance, status updates and resolution in a timely manner. Assists in the installation, implementation, and upgrades of internal systems and maintains a tracking system for usage evaluation.

Position Responsibilities

Utilizes and monitors ticketing system to communicate, document, schedule and prioritize issues for internal and off-site employees Resolves advanced issues escalated by junior team members. Performs root cause analysis and document resolution steps and escalate to IT management Utilizes internal Wiki to document, track and collaborate on technical issues among team. Maintains hardware and software inventory. Reviews and creates new documentation for self-help instructions, standard operating procedures, policies and technical guidelines relating to IT Responsible for daily service desk activities monitoring ticketing system and providing support to remote users, VPN, Microsoft Office, Windows and Mac OS support, iPhones, desk phones, tablets, localnetwork printers, and any industry software Performs Windows Mac imaging of computer systems. Provides meeting support (audiovideo) and new hire setups Performs hardware support including installs, troubleshooting, basic repairs, printer maintenance, e-waste and responsibility for the storage and inventory tracking of new and used equipment. Assists team with preparing for IT related projects with testing deployments Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways while applying company policies and procedures. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factor and demonstrates a full understanding of specialization Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications (

Required Skills

Experience) High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of 5 - 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Good understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) concepts and framework Has strong knowledge of Security fundamentals, concepts and policies. Exhibits strong understanding of Windows Operating System, computer hardware and network infrastructure. Demonstrates strong customer service for phone and face-to-face interaction. Skills

Experience) B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline preferred Computer industry certifications are preferred (CompTia Network+, Security+, Microsoft, VM, Cisco). Six Sigma training desired with Yellow Belt certification Demonstrates effective analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, time management, organizational interpersonal skills.
