Remote Sr. Business Analyst
Our client is seeking a Remote Sr. Business Analyst for a short-term contract.
Our client is migrating it s 4 data centres and 450+ sites across the US and Canada to a new network vendor. We are seeking a Business Analyst to assist the Network and Voice infrastructure project and program manager in leading high-performing teams on this mission critical, enterprise-changing initiative. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who is willing to go the extra mile; is not afraid to ask searching questions to improve their knowledge; willing to make suggestions and is responsive to feedback. Seeking a leader, who will bring a win-win mentality, contribute to the intellectual strength of the PMO team, and work with a mindset of continual improvement. Previous network and voice related project experience will be of benefit; along with the ability to articulate the business value of the projects they have led and a demonstrable ability to resolve issues and keep things moving.
The Business Analyst is a key position in the analysis and design of business requirements and is responsible for identifying and documenting business needs. The Business Analyst also provides technical support, participates in solving business problems, and, in some cases, provide project management.
Business Analyst may be assigned to work directly with the Project Manager on implementing IT solutions to conform with business standards within the company
Business Analyst will participate in all phases of a project from initiation to implementation and post-implementation
Business Analyst should understand data models and the relationship between data and processes
Business Analyst will serve as the liaison between various business units and IT
Business Analyst to act as project manager on smaller initiatives
Planning & Implementation
Business Analyst will collaborate with project managers in the planning, development and deployment, and transition to new network provider. The BA defines business requirements, documents functional specifications and develops timelines for business analysis deliverables
During the analysis phase of a project, the Business Analyst will analyze and verify requirements for completeness and conformity to standards. They will develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirement specifications
Business Analyst may conduct workshops and facilitate requirements definition
Business Analyst will report status and issues to Project Manager and will coordinate and communicate with end users, staff and vendors
To ensure a quality product is delivered that meets the business requirements, the Business Analyst will define processes and workflows as well as develop and conducting test strategies for QA, UAT, plans and cases
Using basic research, analytical and problem solving skills the business analyst will assist in identifying and resolving user needs, business issues and requirements on a regular basis
Business Analyst may also assist in documenting network/voice upgrades and update documentation as changes are made
Qualifications and Experience:
Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills (analyze, diagnose, resolve)
Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
Strong customer service orientation
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Capacity to learn and apply principles and techniques involved in subject matter areas
Experience gathering requirements, conducting business analysis and writing business specifications required
Ability to function under close deadlines with minimal supervision
Be able to interact across multiple levels of the business
Effective time management to meet deadlines
Strong analytical reporting background
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
Strong ability to manage 2+ vendor relationships
Generally a minimum of 5 years related business analysis experience
Project management and Business Analysis skills (CAPM or PMP certification a plus)
