Position Summary

The Industrial Equipment Field Service Technician Supervisor
- Foreman is a hybrid Industrial Equipment Field Service Technician who also provides coordination support to the Project Management team. Project support includes assisting with coordinating the completion of equipment installations, typically through subcontractors. Provides technical, hands on, support as needed for all systems components, including computer, electro-mechanical components, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Provides support to Project Management ensuring progress of projects goes smoothly and accurately. Ensures all safety, quality and legal requirements are met. Monitors progress and quality of work of subcontractors. Takes appropriate problem solving measures when needed. Responsible for onsite customer training, job site visits, and project commissioning. Provides in-depth pre- and post-sales support to end users for all product lines and systems. Monitors outstanding customer issues and drives the Service Team efforts to reach full customer resolution. Provides feedback to R&D, Engineering and Manufacturing groups to improve product performance and serviceability. Recommends which products or services best fit the customer needs with the Service Department. Maintains ERP database and spearheads opportunities for improvement. Documents all customer contact within ERP system. Troubleshoots controls, electrical and mechanical faults at customer sites as needed. Remotely monitors BHS systems to insure optimal operations at customer sites through SCADA and HMI interfaces. Electrical tasks would include reading schematics to source and troubleshoot electrical faults of heavy equipment. Interfaces with customers on-site to deliver product and service training. Provides warranty support and conducts preventative maintenance visits. Recommends preventative maintenance programs and spare parts packages. Supports the development and implementation of processes and/or operational policies, procedures, and standards for both the Project Management and Electrical Controls Teams as identified by management of those Departments. May assists with development and maintenance of technical documentation including operator's manuals, service manuals and training materials.

Requirements

Typically requires completion of formal technical program and 5+ years' experience involving the following areas: working in a mechanical / manufacturing environment; problem solving / troubleshooting mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems. Familiarity with Allen
- Bradley or Siemens controls including variable frequency drives and reading electrical schematics. Previous experience trouble shooting automation equipment a plus. Ability to read blueprints. Previous experience managing subcontractor activities at a site preferred. Ability to travel extensively both domestic and international up to 80% travel required at times depending on business needs. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent customer relations and interpersonal relations skills including a high degree of diplomacy. Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing to various audiences. Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction. Exercises discretion and independent judgement in performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities. Positive with a "can do" attitude; reacts well under pressure. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities and projects under tight deadlines. Demonstrated strong work ethic and highly engaged. Must be flexible with ability to work hours necessary to complete the responsibilities of the job. Hours are governed by demands derived from responsibilities and include frequent overtime including periodic work on the weekends.
