THE

POSITION

T he Deputy Sheriff provides services and protection to the public through performance of law enforcement duties.

Deputy Sheriffs serve in numerous full time assignments including, patrol, investigations, marine patrol, coroner's office, civil, and resident deputy to name a few. In addition, the Sheriff's Office offers "lateral" or ancillary assignments such as SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), CNT (Crisis Negotiation Team), HAZMAT response, specialty instructor positions, Arson Investigation and MFF (Mobile Field Force). Deputy Sheriffs in some assignments are provided with take home vehicles.

The Sheriff's Office also provides a variety of working schedules depending on operational needs and specific assignments. The current options include a traditional five 8-hour schedule, a four 10-hour schedule and a three/four 12-hour schedule.

The Sheriff's Office is also hiring Extra Help Bailiff's to provide support to the Courts.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

REQUIREMENTS

One (1) year of recent law enforcement experience AND Possession of a Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate
