The Director, D&I Implementation is responsible for designing, developing, executing and managing enterprise-level programs and initiatives that enable, promote and advance a high performing and inclusive workforce. You will champion an inclusive and culturally competent work environment to better serve employees, customers and the communities Thrivent serves. This includes evolving and executing our strategies for engaging a diverse and inclusive workforce, ensures execution of D&I initiatives which help Thrivent meet its top strategic goals and mission. This position will also connect with and represent Thrivent in various external stakeholder forums and partnerships designed to support Talent & Culture and Customer Growth initiatives. You will report to and receive direction from the Chief Diversity Officer. Responsible for developing and managing the budget for employees in the areas of Impact and Value Measurements, D&I Talent Acquisition and D&I Inclusion. Advises D&I Ambassadors. Works closely with executives, D&I professionals, HR, Marketing, Finance, Research and Analytics, Customer Growth teams, Employee Resource Groups, Colleges & Universities and external partners.
Job DescriptionJob Duties and Responsibilities.
Collaborate with leaders to develop policies and practices that enable D&I and high performance. Plan, develop, and direct strategic and operational efforts to help the company more effectively recruit, develop, engage, and retain our diverse workforce and increase the organization's ability to support an environment where all people feel included and comfortable being themselves, thereby leading to a stronger sense of belonging/community and ultimately greater innovation and inclusion in partnership with key stakeholders. Act as a consultant and advisor with deep D&I expertise to executive level, field leadership and senior leaders in the organization as well as Thrivent HR and collaborate effectively with colleagues across an array of operational functions within and outside of HR.Work across HR to integrate and embed D&I in Thrivent's people and talent programs and practices.
Develop evidence-based business rationale and needs assessments to determine best solutions in order to reach a desired future state benefit. Partner with HR leaders to embed diversity thinking, metrics, and practices in talent management processes.
Collaborate with D&I Field enablement partners and Field sales leadership to develop market-based testing and learning opportunities to serve existing and new markets. Implement innovative programs and solutions that enables Thrivent to recruit, engage, retain and develop diverse talent. Lead the learning strategy for D&I topics. Develop D&I measurements for areas of responsibility and benchmark D&I best practices. Leverage data to inspire action and drive outcomes across the organization; ensure preparation of diversity metrics/measurements on a regular frequency and communicates progress against plans that reinforce accountability throughout the organization.
Develops, justifies and manages departmental budgets. Create reports and communications to apprise the Chief Diversity Officer and other stakeholders about the status of D&I initiatives. Lead and advise direct and indirect employees. Other duties as assigned
Job QualificationsBachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Human Resources or Education.15+ years of experience in business and possesses capabilities in related field of expertise, or equivalent years of experience.8+ years of effective team leadership and management experience. In-depth knowledge of and experience with core diversity and inclusion concepts and practices as well as strong capability in organizational change. Other Critical Factors Proven track record of project management and ability to drive enterprise-level initiatives. Track record of fostering, driving, and implementing innovative ideas with broad impact. Strong analytical experience. Strong organizational and communication skills, interacting with and influencing leaders at multiple levels and other stakeholders. Demonstrated strategic partnering skills and ability to work across functions and communities to develop ideas and deliver outcomes. Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, helping develop team members and fostering a positive and inclusive experience for the team. Conflict Management skilled. Proven record of organizational agility, political savviness, perseverance and dealing with ambiguity.
