COMPLIANCE AUDITOR 3

Job Summary

Our Compliance Auditor 3's primary function is to conduct audits and reviews that adequately test, measure, and evaluate the policies, procedures, and controls used in the protection of departmental assets and attainment of depar goals and objectives. This position will, under the direct supervision of the Compliance Audit Supervisor, assist in audit planning, conduct audit testing, and report audit results. Audits are to be conducted in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) to provide management with independent, objective assurance to add value and improve the effectiveness of department operations and internal controls. Job Duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performs audits using established audit programs to document results in work papers prepared in accordance with GAGAS within established budgeted hours. Analyzes and tests records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures in accordance with GAGAS, ensuring conclusions are logical, well supported, and reasonable. Present data clearly and concisely in accordance with GAGAS. Prepares audit work papers to include sufficient, relevant, and competent evidence to provide a basis for conclusions reached by interpreting and evaluating data to determine if the information provided is accurate, reliable and complete. Prepares audit programs and risk assessments for areas being audited that ensure the audit scope will be met, ensures accuracy, extent of work, and quality of work performed. Responds to inquiries related to procedures, timelines, and other requirements to facilitate efficient resolution of audit exceptions. Creates and presents oral/written reports to the Internal Audit Manager, Chief Auditor, management, process owner(s), and/or other stakeholders during and at the conclusion of audits. Write audit reports, memos, and letters in a clear and concise manner. Manages audit budgets and audit deadlines, monitoring own progress, identifying problems, and apply corrective actions to complete smaller assignments effectively in a reasonable time frame. Communicates throughout the audit with the auditee to ensure audit issues are mutually understood as they are developed. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other field emphasizing analytical skills, research, writing and organization of data. A minimum of 2 years of audit experience.CPA, CIA or other professional designation is preferred. Pre

Requirements

This position requires possession of a valid Arizona Class D Driver License. Candidates for this position must complete and sign PART 1 of the State of Arizona Application for Employment at the time of interview, which will allow ADOT to obtain the candidate's motor vehicle record (MVR). The most recent 39-month period shown on the MVR will be reviewed in accordance with A.A.C. R2-10-207.11 (H) and (I). The review must show an acceptable driving record prior to any offer of employment being made by ADOT. Employment is contingent upon an acceptable MVR.
