Wage Agency Instructor I - Executive Program
- Whole Community Inclusive Planning 3 positions to be filled Temporary/Casual Position Telecommuter $45.00 per hour The purpose of this position is to deliver and conduct, on an as needed part-time basis, training courses as a part of the Homeland Security National Training Program cooperative agreement. The Wage Instructor I will participate in the development, planning and delivery of the Texas A Engineering Extension Services (TEEX) Whole Community Inclusive Planning (AWR-330) course. This position will follow approved curriculum course outlines and timelines and perform all course exercises as explained in the Instructor Guides. In addition, this position will actively participate in the updating and revising of a course as a team member in the curriculum development process and review new instructional materials as requested. The Instructor will also maintain records, reports and documentation of activities during each course delivery. Other duties will include classroom and topic preparation, delivery of classes including demonstrating with teaching aids, completing required administrative paperwork and maintaining technical competence and skills. The work may also involve traveling to remote locations and providing classroom and field instruction.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years experience in a leadership role in a private or public agency at the local, state or federal level in any combination of the following areas: human or social services, disability services, education, diversity and inclusion, public health, healthcare, mental health, emergency management, public safety, the military, and/or government administration. (Will allow for 7 years experience with an associates degree or 9 years experience with a high school diploma or GED.) Other

Requirements

Two years experience working with historically underserved or vulnerable populations. One year of experience in adult education and/or training and a background in training concepts and programs. Familiarity with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the principles of inclusion, and universal accessibility.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree from an accredited college or university. 10 years experience in a leadership role in a private or public agency at the local, state or federal level in any combination of the following areas: human or social services, disability services, education, diversity and inclusion, public health, healthcare, mental health, emergency management, public safety, the military, and/or government administration. Requirements

Lead instruction and provide effective demonstration of required topics; communicate clearly in English both orally and in writing; use a computer, keyboard and telephone; and use commercial aircraft for travel. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles. Ability to effectively use computers. Ability to use a variety of media to present course material. Excellent small group facilitation and team building skills. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff. This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Essential Duties, Tasks & Percentages: To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990: Travel as needed to conduct training courses as assigned. Ensure all training materials are prepared before class and secured at the completion of class. Follow approved curriculum course outline. Complete required administrative work. Training Course Delivery (75%) The Instructor will be responsible for delivering various courses within Executive Programs. Prepare course material and classroom. Maintain subject matter expertise on topics of instruction. Present lessons in a positive manner using adult learning principles. Ensure all aspects of lessons and activities are covered. Participate as a Subject Matter Expert as needed. Assist in course development and review as needed. Training Documentation (20%) Collects forms at the start of class, ensures students sign the attendance roster. Maintain appropriate student activity documentation. Ensure course evaluations are collected and returned as instructed by program manager. Complete all required course documents in a timely manner. Fiscal Responsibility (5%) Submit time sheets and travel forms and receipts within the required time frame. Complete all required Texas A University System training within the requested due dates.
