Sr. Audit Manager, Professional Practices

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Audit Manager to join our Professional Practices team. You will report to our Professional Practices Lead and assist in maintaining and enhancing policies/procedures/methodologies and documentation for our internal audit group, including our SOX testing practice.
A background in professional practices and/or SOX is nice to have, but not necessary....as we will train. We are open to candidates with an audit background looking to transition to the professional practices arena. We seek candidates who have excelled in previous work experience, possess strong analytical, quantitative and interpersonal skills, and are enthusiastic about and committed to contributing to AIG's mission of being an industry leading internal audit team and key contributor to the achievement of the firm's strategic goals. You will be part of a large and diverse firm working within a team-oriented environment. Our desired location is the Charlotte, NC area - however, we are open to candidates working remotely anywhere in the U.S. What you'll do: Maintain audit methodology policies and procedures to align with our Internal Audit and SOX teams, and governing regulations/requirements.
Work closely with Audit teams and SOX leads to help build appropriate methodologies, develop communication plans, and skills training.
Partner with global audit leaders, team members and Strategy and Operations teams on SOX and audit process and methodology initiatives.
Work closely with audit teams to drive consistent adherence to policies and procedures.
Support various projects throughout the year (e.g., risk assessment and planning)Collaborate with the quality assurance team to understand key themes identified as a result of QA reviews that impact the SOX and audit programs.
What we're looking for:8+ years of general audit experienceA background in professional practices and/or SOX is nice to have, but not necessary. Will train. Strong business and financial acumen and project management/ organizational skills with ability to multi-task and deal with change in a proactive and positive manner.
Knowledge of Sarbanes
- Oxley; FRB/regulatory reporting; IIA standards; risk management techniques and compliance requirements.
Ability to think strategically, be able to see patterns, anticipates future consequences and trends, and incorporates them into on-going plans.
Sound judgment and confident ability to make decisions supported by strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience in performing data analysis & reporting Comfortable building relationships at all levels in the organization.
